Nest Security Breach Leading to Two-step verification, Adding up Their Security in May. Nest will be starting its two-factor authentication for their accounts. The company has already announced it. To make user’s accounts safe. The user, after logging in with the username and password, users will have to enter the six-digit code.
This change is for those users who have not already shifter to a google account or haven’t already set up a two-step verification through their mobile phones
Previous Reports Against Nest Security:
There were some reports that Nest’s security cameras were being “hacked” across the US.
Nest’s security has responded to these reports by making changes in the system. Google confirmed that it was not a security breach and was only due to users re-using their passwords across services. The two-step verification will surely increase security and prevent this issue in the future.
Nest has stated that it will notify users before they make the security change. “Until then, ensure you can still access the email associated with your Nest account.”
